Random Times in Japan

Saturday, June 7, 2014

Here is a blog post of pictures from throughout my trip that either didn't make the cut for other blog posts or were just completely random.

The picture above is from my hanami trip to Ueno Park, right after I arrived in Japan. Most shrines have areas where you can buy these little wooden slabs and then you write your onegai (お願い), or wish, on them. They're always cool to look at because you can see that so many people from different countries came to visit the shrine.

And some purikura, which is always entertaining.

Too many coins! Most places in Japan don't accept credit cards so this happens regularly.

When I was in Nikko we tried to grab dinner before we caught the bus back to Tokyo and every restaurant was closed except this chain called Gusto. It serves a lot of Japan-ized Italian food and I got this delicious sundae for dessert.

Here is me at an Indian restaurant in Naha, Okinawa. I drank a lot of wine and late-night curry became necessary.

Doing some exploring on Zamami Island, Okinawa. I had to cross a pretty long sandbar to get to this spot.

Hiking on Aka Island, found a blue hermit crab in the middle of the woods.

This post is getting pretty long, so I will leave it here for now. I may make more of these random posts in the future because I think it's a nice way to compile pictures that wouldn't make satisfying posts in and of themselves. I also have a few random videos that I want to post, but those take a little longer to upload with my slow internet so I will have to save those for next time as well.
