Yokohama: Chinatown and Yamashita Park
Saturday, June 21, 2014
On Thursday I went to the Chinatown in Yokohama, which is the largest Chinatown in Asia! There was also a really nice park nearby, where I went after lunch.
There were a ton of restaurants selling Chinese food (obviously), so we walked around for a bit trying to figure out where we should go.
This is the restaurant we ended up eating at. I got a set that gave you a sample of a bunch of different Chinese foods. It was a nice change of pace from what I'd been eating, but a little bit greasy (forgot to take a picture, whoops).
Found this mini park with a pagoda and some old people hanging out.
This guy was guarding the park.
Here's a picture of one of the gates that marked the entrance to Chinatown. There are actually multiple entrances, one for north, south, east, and west. This gate seemed sort of random though, because it doesn't say north, south, east, or west on it.
Uh oh found a panda store.
And here's a picture of Hello Kitty sodas. I thought they looked very Japanese.
I also found this very fancy-looking Sega store, which I had to take a picture of for my brother.
Then we walked over to Yamashita Park, right by the harbor.
We went home after hanging out in the park for awhile, so that's all for now!
